Knicks' Robinson makes season debut vs. Grizzlies
New York Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson made his season debut off the bench Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Robinson has been sidelined since injuring his left ankle in last season's playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. The injury required surgery, his second procedure on that ankle.
Robinson dealt with a variety of injuries last season, averaging 5.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in just 31 contests with the Knicks. He led the Association with 4.6 offensive rebounds per game in 2023-24.
The Knicks have been short on big man depth this season after losing Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency last offseason.
They brought in Ariel Huporti over the offseason and converted his two-way contract to a standard NBA deal in November. The German big man is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks after tearing his meniscus in his first NBA start Wednesday.
The Knicks are 38-20 and sit third in the East.
