Luka out vs. Bucks as Lakers manage ankle sprain
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic didn't play Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks as he continues to manage a sprained right ankle.
Thursday's matchup marks the Lakers' sixth game in eight days.
Doncic sat out the second night of a back-to-back last Friday to manage his injured ankle. Los Angeles lost 131-126 to the Denver Nuggets.
However, the Slovenian played in the Lakers' last three games and scored over 30 points twice, including in Thursday's rematch against the Nuggets.
Doncic's averaged 26.5 points, 8.0 assists, and 8.8 rebounds in 16 games since Los Angeles acquired him from the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the trade deadline.
L.A. is still missing LeBron James, who's expected to sit out his seventh consecutive game due to injury.
Austin Reaves also missed Thursday's contest due to a right ankle sprain, while Jarred Vanderbilt and Dorian Finney-Smith also sat.
The Lakers own a 43-25 record and sit third in the West, just behind the 45-25 Houston Rockets.
