Report: Pistons land Heat's Robinson on 3-year, $48M sign-and-trade
The Detroit Pistons are signing Duncan Robinson to a three-year, $48-million contract, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Detroit is sending Simone Fontecchio to Miami to acquire Robinson as part of a sign-and-trade deal, adds Charania.
Robinson's new contract is partially guaranteed for the second season and non-guaranteed for the final year, according to Omari Sankofa II of The Detroit Free Press.
The ex-Heat sharpshooter hit the market after recently declining his $20 million early termination option.
Robinson spent his first seven NBA seasons with the Heat after going undrafted in 2018. The 31-year-old is a career 39.7% 3-point shooter and leaves South Beach as the franchise's all-time leader in threes made (1202).
Detroit also reportedly added Caris LeVert on a two-year, $29-million contract when free agency opened Monday.
Meanwhile, Fontecchio has been with the Pistons for parts of the last two campaigns. He averaged 5.9 points on 40.2% shooting across 75 appearances in 2024-25.
Fontecchio will earn $8.3 million this upcoming season and is set to enter free agency next summer.
