Report: Brunson out vs. Heat with Grade 1 ankle sprain
Jalen Brunson appears to have avoided a major injury after leaving Madison Square Garden on crutches Wednesday.
The New York Knicks star sustained a Grade 1 right ankle sprain against the Orlando Magic and will be evaluated daily moving forward, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Brunson, 29, is reportedly expected to miss Friday's contest versus the Miami Heat.
He sustained the injury on a drive to the basket with just under two minutes remaining during the 124-107 loss to Orlando. He went to the locker room and was seen wearing a protective boot postgame.
The two-time All-Star has averaged 28 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds through 11 appearances this season.
The Knicks and Heat face off Friday and Monday. New York then goes up against the Mavericks in Dallas on Wednesday to continue its five-game road trip.
