The Denver Nuggets hired Dave Joerger as the lead assistant coach on David Adelman's staff, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Joerger previously served as the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies (2013-16) and Sacramento Kings (2016-19), spending three seasons with each team. He led the Grizzlies to three playoff appearances but failed to make the postseason with the Kings. He owns a career .498 winning percentage as a head coach.
The 52-year-old also worked as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers (2020-23) and the Milwaukee Bucks (2024-26).
The Nuggets lost in Round 1 of the playoffs to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Adelman's first full season as an NBA head coach in 2025-26.
