Warriors officially sign Draymond Green to reported 5-year, $82M deal

The Golden State Warriors and Draymond Green made their continued partnership official on Thursday.

Green, a restricted free agent, reportedly agreed to a five-year, $82-million contract with the Warriors on July 2, but the two sides had to wait for the NBA's moratorium on player movement to be lifted on July 9 before making things official.

Green played an integral role in the Warriors' championship campaign, which included a 67-win regular season.

In his first crack at a full-time starting gig, the 25-year-old averaged 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks while providing the Warriors with outstanding defensive versatility.

Green, who saw the Warriors perform more than 15 points better per 100 possessions when he was on the court, finished runner-up for both Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year.
