Report: NBPA files grievance on behalf of Grizzlies' Barnes
The Matt Barnes-Derek Fisher saga continues.
The National Basketball Players Association has filed a grievance on behalf of the Memphis Grizzlies forward in order to get his two-game suspension without pay rescinded, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 35-year-old journeyman was punished by the NBA for his involvement in an Oct. 3 altercation with New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher that was determined - through league investigation - to be instigated by Barnes.
Barnes had driven from the Grizzlies' Santa Barbara training camp to Redondo Beach, Calif. where Fisher - Barnes' former teammate on the Los Angeles Lakers - was visiting Barnes' ex-wife, Gloria Govan.
Police arrived at the scene, but no charges were filed against Barnes.
Fisher - who once served as the players union's president - wasn't penalized for his role in the incident.

While Barnes was forced to sit out a win against the Miami Heat and a loss to the Utah Jazz, his wallet became lighter, as well, after losing $64,000 in salary as a result of the suspension.
NBPA executive director Michele Roberts is appealing the financial loss on Barnes' behalf.
