Report: Niagara transfer Emile Blackman commits to Duquesne
Duquesne looks to have added some firepower for the 2016-17 season, as sources told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein that Niagara's Emile Blackman has committed to the Dukes as a graduate transfer.
The 6-foot-4 guard led the Purple Eagles in scoring last season, pouring in 15.8 points per game, and will be eligible immediately as per NCAA transfer regulations.
Blackman's addition should immediately help a Dukes backcourt decimated by graduation. Micah Mason and Derrick Colter have exhausted their eligibility, leaving the program short their combined 36 points per game.
Blackman ended the 2015-16 season on a tear, topping the 20-point mark in five of his last six games. Dukes head coach Jim Ferry is certainly hoping the New York native will resume his prolific finishing when the 2016-17 season begins.
