Report: Valpo's Peters withdraws from draft
Alec Peters has withdrawn from the NBA draft, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Despite the deadline to withdraw from the draft having been set for Wednesday, Peters elected to wait until Thursday to make his decision known.
While it appears Peters is set for a return to the college game and expected to play out his career at Valparaiso, there's no guarantee he'll stay with the Crusaders.
Peters has the option to be a graduate transfer, which would allow him to join another program and be immediately eligible, rather than having to sit out a year like a regular transfer. While Peters hasn't indicated his intentions to do so, the fact the possibility exists means his return to Valpo isn't a sure thing.
The Crusaders will certainly hope to have his production back in the lineup next season. The 6-foot-9 forward registered team highs with 18.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range as a junior.
