Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports
Syracuse needed a win against Duke to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive on Wednesday, and John Gillon made sure that would happen for the Orange.
The senior guard grabbed a loose ball with five seconds to play, dribbled the length of the court, and banked home a game-winning triple, much to the delight of 30,000 fans at the Carrier Dome.
Gillon was a star all night for the Orange, finishing the contest with 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting for Syracuse, who snapped a three-game losing streak with the win.
