LSU hires VCU's Will Wade as new head coach

LSU's search for a head coach is over as the school announced Monday that VCU's Will Wade has accepted the role of the Tigers new frontman.
The 34-year-old is one of the hottest coaching prospects in the country after a very impressive two-year run with the Rams. Since taking over for Shaka Smart with the program, Wade led VCU to a 51-20 record and back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.
Prior to taking the VCU job, Wade held the same position at Chattanooga in the Southern Conference, posting a 40-25 record in two seasons.
Wade takes over for Johnny Jones who was fired after five seasons with the Tigers, posting a 90-72 overall record over that span.
While the move to a major conference program certainly makes sense for Wade, he faces a tough rebuilding job at LSU, as the Tigers finished the season with a dismal 10-21 record.
