Shaka Smart scored a big win in the transfer market on Wednesday as former Mount St. Mary's guard Elijah Long announced he's committed to Texas.

The 6-foot guard was one of the most coveted transfers on the market this offseason after Long averaged 15 points per game during his sophomore campaign. The Canadian standout also chipped in with 4.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds, showing his all-around skills in impressive fashion for the Mountaineers.

As per NCAA transfer regulations, Long will be forced to sit out next season before taking the court in 2018-19 with two years of eligibility remaining.

His addition should help the program rebound from the loss of leading scorer Tevin Mack, who announced he would be transferring after being suspended by Smart in February.
