Report: Harvard won't compete in 2020-21, Ivy League season in jeopardy

Harvard's men's basketball team won't compete in the upcoming 2020-21 college hoops campaign, and another Ivy League school is on the fence, sources told Forbes' Adam Zagoria.

The eight-school league's season is reportedly in jeopardy, but it will proceed if five-to-six teams commit to playing.

"It's going to be tough," one Ivy League coach told Zagoria. "Things are getting worse everywhere."

Harvard went 21-8 last season and finished with the second-best record in Ivy League play. The Crimson lost grad transfer Seth Towns earlier in the offseason, and key reserve Danilo Djuricic entered the transfer portal in September.

The Ivy League canceled its fall sports season in July due to the coronavirus pandemic, ruling out any play until at least Jan. 1.
