Top-ranked 2022 recruit Emoni Bates decommitted from Michigan State and is considering both college and pro routes, he announced Friday on social media.
The 6-foot-8 forward initially committed to the Spartans in June and is among the most highly regarded prospects in recent years.
Bates' decision comes a few months after fellow 2022 Michigan State recruit Enoch Boakye decommitted.
The high school phenom averaged 32.3 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and 2.1 steals en route to becoming the first male sophomore to be named Gatorade Player of the Year.
Bates played for Ypsi Prep Academy, his father's newly created prep school, this past season.
Bates isn't eligible for the NBA draft until 2023.
