Baylor forward Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury in the first half of Saturday's Big 12 clash against Texas, the team announced Sunday.

Teammates had to help Tchamwa Tchatchoua off the court.

The junior had been an important part of the Bears' reserve unit, providing energy and solid ball-screen defense. He entered Saturday's contest averaging 8.6 points and seven boards over 24 appearances this season.

Tchamwa Tchatchoua leads the Big 12 in defensive rebound percentage (26.5%) and owns the NCAA's 11th-best 2-point field goal percentage (70.4%).

He was a member of Baylor's national championship squad last season.
