Oregon lands top-5 prospect Mookie Cook
Five-star prospect Mookie Cook announced his commitment to Oregon during ESPN's broadcast of this year's GEICO Nationals.
The 6-foot-7 forward is the fifth-ranked recruit on the ESPN 60 for 2023.
Gonzaga and Kentucky were also in the running for the Portland native.

"I know where I want to go, and the timing is perfect for me," Cook told ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "I visited all three schools. (Oregon) coach (Dana) Altman came to see me play in the eighth grade at the Les Schwab event. Since then, he has been recruiting me. ... I was always on campus, and I love their facilities."
Cook is the Ducks' highest-ranked recruit since Bol Bol, who was No. 4 in the Class of 2018. He joins four-star prospect Jackson Shelstad in Oregon's 2023 recruiting class.
Dana Altman's program is also in the hunt for second-ranked 2023 recruit Kwame Evans.
