5-star guard Alijah Arenas commits to USC
Five-star recruit Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, committed Thursday to playing for USC next season.
He announced his decision on his father's podcast, "GilsArenaShow."
Arenas is the 12th-ranked recruit and third-ranked shooting guard of his class, per ESPN. He chose the Trojans over Kentucky, Louisville, and Arizona, per On3's Joe Tipton.
The 6-foot-5 scoring guard is the third top-100 recruit to commit to Eric Musselman's squad for next season.
Alijah's father, Gilbert, spent two seasons at Arizona and was selected 31st overall in the 2001 NBA Draft. He spent 11 seasons in the Association, most of which came with the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors, and was a three-time All-Star.
Musselman is in his first year with USC. The Trojans are 12-8 overall and in the midst of their inaugural season in the Big Ten.
