Texas freshman guard Tre Johnson is declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft, he announced on ESPN.

Johnson averaged 19.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game for the Longhorns and was named SEC Freshman of the Year, as well as All-SEC second-team.

The 6-foot-6 guard is projected to be a lottery selection in June.

"This season was a roller-coaster ride," Johnson said, per ESPN's Jonathan Givony. "But it was a great experience, wins and losses aside. Going up against the best teams in the country. Playing at Texas was the best experience I've ever had, being with a great group of guys and a great coaching staff."

Texas lost in the First Four to Xavier. After the Longhorns fired Rodney Terry on March 23, they quickly hired Musketeers coach Sean Miller as his replacement.
