Report: St. John's lands Stanford transfer Sellers
St. John's keeps adding talent: Ex-Stanford guard Oziyah Sellers decided to play for Rick Pitino and the Red Storm next season, On3's Joe Tipton reports.
The 6-foot-5 guard started all 35 of his games for the Cardinal, averaging 13.7 points and 1.3 assists while shooting 40.1% from three on 4.2 attempts per game.
The junior guard will provide Pitino's squad with some much-needed spacing. The Red Storm were last in 3-point percentage in the Big East during the 2024-25 campaign, shooting 27.8% from downtown. Despite its inefficiency from the outside, St. John's still managed to win the Big East regular-season and tourney titles.
Sellers played two seasons with USC before joining Stanford last summer.
The Red Storm have already made a splash in the transfer portal, receiving commitments from former five-star Joson Sanon from Arizona State as well as former Providence star Bryce Hopkins.
St. John's finished last season with a 31-5 record but got bounced in Round 2 of the NCAA Tournament.
