DePaul is interested in hiring Tulsa assistant coach Dave Leitao for its vacant head-coaching position, according to a report from ESPN.
The Blue Demons have already interviewed Leitao and are in serious consideration of bringing Leitao back into the fold.
Leitao was head coach at DePaul from 2002-05, compiling a record of 58-34 while leading the Blue Demons to the NCAA tournament in 2004. He then went to Virginia from 2005-09, going 63-60 during his stint with the Cavaliers. Since leaving Virginia, Leitao served as an assistant at Missouri and most recently Tulsa.
Oliver Purnell resigned as head coach two weeks ago after five seasons at DePaul. He went 54-105, including a 12-20 record this past season.
