Kentucky's John Calipari not a fan of Christmas practices
Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports
The Louisville-Kentucky rivalry game is the only contest between Dec. 24 and Dec. 26 on the college basketball slate, but don't expect John Calipari to have his players practicing during the Christmas break.
"Everybody goes crazy, why wouldn't you practice over Christmas to get ready for Louisville?" said the Wildcats head coach in an interview Tuesday. "Because I'm not worried about Louisville, I'm worried about my family and these kids' families."
Calipari isn't taking his in-state rival lightly, though, as he added: "I know how good Louisville is, I think these guys having time off is better for them."
The Cardinals and Wildcats tip off at noon on Dec. 26.
