Ohio State added some depth at tight end Monday, with Notre Dame's Chase Hounshell announcing he'll join the Buckeyes as a graduate transfer for the 2016 season.
"I can't thank Notre Dame enough, but I am excited to announce I will be transferring to THE Ohio State University," Hounshell said on Twitter, adding, "Go Bucks!"
The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder appeared primarily as a blocking tight end in 13 games with the Fighting Irish in 2015. He caught just one pass for 6 yards on the campaign.
As per NCAA graduate transfer rules, Hounshell will be eligible to play immediately next season provided he graduates in May as scheduled.
