Florida Atlantic dismisses running back Trey Rodriguez
The brief and tumultuous career of Trey Rodriguez at Florida Atlantic is over, as the school announced Tuesday that the running back has been dismissed.
"Trey Rodriguez has been dismissed from the FAU football program," read a statement on the football program's Twitter account. "He failed to abide by the standards we require and failed to meet the necessary obligations to be a member of the team."
Rodriguez missed four games during the 2015 season for various disciplinary and injury problems, but still led the team in rushing touchdowns with five. His 419 yards on just 70 carries was good for third-highest on the team.
With both Greg Howell and Jay Warren returning to the Owls backfield for 2016, Rodriguez's dismissal should have a limited affect on the rushing attack.
