Police report shows former Baylor DE Shawn Oakman accused of assault in 2013

A police report obtained on Monday by Rivals.com's Alex Dunlap shows former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman was accused of assault by an ex-girlfriend in 2013.

Dunlap also reports that a source told him the school ignored the incident and continued to play the defensive star.

Oakman, who currently is facing a sexual assault charge for an incident earlier in the month, finished his career with Baylor after the 2015 season and is hopeful to be selected in this week's NFL draft.

The new police report has Oakman traveling to an ex-girlfriend's house and assaulting her after a discussion about comments on Instagram pictures.

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of this newest report, is the school's lack of action on one of its star defensive players. Following the 2013 incident, the 6-foot-9, 275-pound lineman played 24 games for the Bears program.

The latest report further tarnishes the Baylor program and head coach Art Briles. Two former players, Tevin Elliott and Sam Ukwuachu, have been convicted of sexual assault dating back to 2012. Following Elliott's arrest, a Title IX lawsuit against Baylor was filed by the victim, who claims the school ignored her sexual assault claims.
