Auburn's secondary depth took a hit Tuesday as Tim Irvin announced on Twitter he's transferring after one season with the program.
"I want to thank Auburn University for the time I was here and I appreciate the coaches and the fans," Irvin tweeted. "It was a great journey but it will be better for me to pursue my career elsewhere."
Irvin registered 18 tackles during his freshman season with Gus Malzahn's program, but following defensive coordinator Will Muschamp's departure for South Carolina, the 5-foot-9, 190-pounder has decided to move on.
A four-star recruit in the class of 2015, Irvin held offers from Florida, West Virginia, Texas, Clemson, and Miami among other power 5 programs.
