22 years later, Kordell Stewart completes Colorado degree
Twenty-two years after leaving the school just one class shy of his degree, Kordell Stewart has completed his requirements for a communications degree from Colorado.
"Completed. Accomplished," Stewart told Brian Howell of Buffzone.com. "The task at hand is finally done. It's something my son will be proud of, something my father - if he was living - would be proud of."
The former Buffaloes star was one of the most electrifying players during his four years with the program. He finished his career with 6,481 passing yards and 1,289 rushing yards, while accounting for 48 total touchdowns.
Following his final collegiate campaign, Stewart was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and embarked on an 11-year NFL career that saw him finish with 14,746 passing yards and 560 rushing yards. Known for his versatility, Stewart acquired the nickname "Slash" and even racked up 658 receiving yards throughout his career.
