Alabama's Alphonse Taylor cleared of DUI charge
Alabama's Alphonse Taylor was found not guilty of driving under the influence Tuesday, more than a month after he was slapped with the charge.
The offensive lineman's lawyer, Jason Neff, confirmed the news to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, issuing a statement reading: "We are very happy with this ruling and hope that he will now have the opportunity to move forward with his football career."
The news was expected after it was revealed that Taylor, who was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.0 at the time.
Taylor started every game at right guard for the national champion Crimson Tide last season, and was a preseason second-team All-SEC selection heading into 2016.
Head coach Nick Saban has yet to decide whether to suspend Taylor for any games after the arrest.
