Harbaugh supports NCAA proposal, despite taking away 'a lot of fun'

The NCAA proposed new rules and regulations for satellite camps and early signing periods on Wednesday, and it didn't take long for Michigan's Jim Harbaugh to weigh in.

Harbaugh has arguably been the biggest proponent of satellite camps, and while he supports the proposed limitations, he did voice some concerns.

"That would take away a lot of fun," Harbaugh said on WXYT-FM, as per Nick Baumgardner of MLive.com. "We did close to 50 last year, and that was a lot of fun. But, heck, if every school is doing 10, then that'd probably be more than what was done last year. So there's a possibility it's a really good thing, where everyone carries the water."

Michigan's jet-setting tour this past summer saw Harbaugh and his staff work almost 50 camps in various states and two different countries. The new proposal would limit coaches to 10 days in the summer during which they could do camps with high school prospects.

While the new rule would limit Michigan's outreach, if every school did a certain amount of camps, Harbaugh would be a big fan of the proposal.

"If everybody did 10, that'd be phenomenal," the 54-year-old said. "That'd be a lot, and it'd be phenomenal for the youngsters who are being introduced to football or reintroduced to football at the high school level."
