Report: Boosters pressuring Texas to hire Tom Herman

Following Houston's huge win over No. 5 Louisville on Thursday, sources told ESPN's Brett McMurphy that Texas boosters are putting the school's administration under "extreme pressure" to hire Cougars head coach Tom Herman.
Charlie Strong's position with Texas was reportedly safe if the Longhorns won their remaining two games, but Houston's dominant performance on national television may have changed the boosters' minds.
Herman has been rumored as the leading candidate for the Texas job all season, but sources told McMurphy the interest had cooled after the Cougars' losses to Navy and SMU.
Strong is in the third year of a five-year deal, and along with paying a large salary for a new coach, Texas would be forced to pay a $10-million buyout should it dismiss the 56-year-old.
Texas president Greg Fenves and athletic director Mike Perrin have continuously voiced their support for Strong throughout the season.
