Twitter roasts Ohio State for no-tackling rule during spring game
Ohio State's spring game is a hot ticket in Columbus, with 80,000 fans packing the stadium for their first glimpse at football in months.
Tickets were so desirable that scalpers sold entry to the game at $10 instead of the usual $5, reports Lori Schmidt of 97.1 The Fan.
Fans who did score a ticket for Saturday's action were in for a surprise. It was revealed on the first play of the game that there would be no tackling, and the Scarlet and Gray teams would play two-hand touch instead.
Twitter reacted quickly.
So Ohio State isn’t playing live tackle during its spring game. So, that’s fun.

Ohio State playing two-hand touch in their Spring Game. That makes 2 games in a row since they didn't tackle anyone against Clemson either. https://t.co/OhiZBpK2NZ

Ohio State apparently paying tribute to its 2013 defense with no live tackling at today’s spring game.

I think Ohio State fans should start throwing beer cans and nacho trays on the field. This is ridiculous.

So just how intense was the competition? Here's running back Mike Weber tossing a throwback pass to quarterback J.T. Barrett while the defense avoids him like the plague.
Once the starters exited the game, some tackling did occur, but fans on Twitter had already had their moment.
