Vinny Testaverde's son to transfer from Miami
Vincent Testaverde, son of long-time NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, has decided to transfer from Miami as he looks for a bigger role.
"Vincent approached me this morning and indicated that he felt like he would have more opportunities for playing time at another program," head coach Mark Richt said in a statement, per Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post. "We wish him all the best in his future plans."
The Tampa native originally went to Texas Tech before following in his father's footsteps by joining the Hurricanes program in 2015. He's only appeared in one game, throwing for 116 yards with one interception in a 2014 loss to Texas while with the Red Raiders.
With Richt naming Malik Rosier the starting quarterback earlier this week, and talented youngster N'Kosi Perry waiting in the wings, it comes as no surprise that Testaverde would want to explore a transfer for increased playing time.
The elder Testaverde was a star for the Hurricanes from 1982-86, winning the Heisman Trophy in his final year.
