With Saturday's rivalry victory over Cal, David Shaw became the winningest coach in Stanford history.
The Cardinal's victory was the 72nd of Shaw's career, breaking him out of a tie with Pop Warner, who set the previous record of 71 from 1924-32.
The 45-year-old was offensive coordinator from 2007-10 and took over as head coach when Jim Harbaugh left for the San Francisco 49ers. He's never won fewer than eight games in any of his seven seasons in charge, capturing three Pac-12 titles in the process.
