Report: Tennessee to contact Kevin Sumlin regarding HC job
How many more chapters will Tennessee's coaching saga have? At least one more, it seems.
Shortly after NC State head coach Dave Doeren made it clear he would be staying put and not making the jump to the Volunteers, Tennessee has reportedly made plans to reach out to former Texas A&M bench boss Kevin Sumlin regarding the position, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, citing a source.
Tennessee has been turned down by several notable names thus far, including Doeren, Duke's David Cutcliffe and Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, so there's no guarantee Sumlin will jump at the chance to get back into the SEC.
Sumlin led the Aggies to a 7-5 finish this season before being let go, and owns a career coaching record of 86-43 over 10 years between Texas A&M and Houston.
