Saquon Barkley declares for 2018 NFL Draft
Saquon Barkley's brilliant college career is over as the Penn State star announced he's declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft on Sunday night.
Since the moment he stepped foot on the Penn State campus, Barkley has been arguably the most exciting player in the country. He capped his college career with an incredible performance in Saturday's Fiesta Bowl win over Washington, rushing for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
Barkley burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2015, finishing the campaign with 1,076 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns. His three-year stats with the Nittany Lions program are staggering.
Year | Rushing yards | Receiving yards | Total touchdowns |
---|---|---|---|
2017 | 1271 | 632 | 24 |
2016 | 1496 | 402 | 22 |
2015 | 1076 | 161 | 8 |
Barkley is widely regarded as the top running back in the draft, and with the success of top-5 picks Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fournette in recent years, it wouldn't be shocking to hear the talented junior's name as one of the first called in April.
