Fresno State announced former Indiana offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer as its new head coach Tuesday.
The job became available after Jeff Tedford stepped down due to health-related reasons.
DeBoer previously coached the University of Sioux Falls from 2005-09. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Fresno State for two seasons (2017-18) before accepting a new job in Indiana in 2019.
Under DeBoer, the Hoosiers scored more than 32 points per game and gained 308.7 passing yards per tilt, which ranked 13th overall in college football.
Following two 10-plus win seasons, Fresno State finished this year 4-8, its worst record since 2016.
