Minnesota has received 40 positive COVID-19 tests - including 20 infected players - since Nov. 19, the school announced Saturday, according to Stadium's Brett McMurphy.
The Golden Gophers initially reported 25 positive tests Wednesday, according to Andy Greder of Pioneer Press.
Minnesota suspended all football activities Tuesday. The Golden Gophers' game Saturday against Wisconsin was canceled due to the virus outbreak.
Minnesota is scheduled to play against Northwestern on Dec. 5.
The Golden Gophers still intend to face the Wildcats, a team spokesperson said, according to Megan Ryan of the Star Tribune.
