Big 12 won't reschedule games in 2021
The Big 12 won't schedule makeup games if a team doesn't have enough players and cancels the initial contest, the conference announced Tuesday.
The team that forces the cancellation will be credited with a loss, while its opponent will earn a win. If both teams are unable to compete, the game will be determined a no-contest.
The Big 12 is the third Power 5 conference to announce it won't reschedule COVID-19-related cancellations in 2021, along with the SEC and Pac-12.
Oklahoma and West Virginia were forced to postpone their November contest last season due to several COVID-19 cases on the Sooners. The clash was ultimately called off after Mountaineers battled their own outbreak prior to the make-up game.
The matchup between Kansas and Baylor on Sept. 18 is set to open the Big 12 slate this year.
