Georgia and Alabama remained in the top-two slots of the College Football Playoff Rankings on Tuesday, but there was plenty of movement behind the SEC powers thanks to Michigan State's loss.

The Spartans' surprising defeat at Purdue dropped them from No. 3 to No. 7, with Oregon moving up one slot to fill Michigan State's spot. The Ducks were joined in the top four by Ohio State to fill the semifinal places.

Rank Team Record
1 Georgia 9-0
2 Alabama 8-1
3 Oregon 8-1
4 Ohio State 8-1

Cincinnati moved up to No. 5 despite barely getting past 3-6 Tulsa at home on Saturday, while Michigan is surprisingly ahead of the Spartans at No. 6. That comes despite the fact both schools have the same record and Michigan State won the head-to-head matchup two weeks ago.

Undefeated Oklahoma remained at No. 8 after having last week off, while Notre Dame and Oklahoma State round out the top 10 in the second edition of the rankings.

Rank Team Record
5 Cincinnati 9-0
6 Michigan 8-1
7 Michigan State 8-1
8 Oklahoma 9-0
9 Notre Dame 8-1
10 Oklahoma State 8-1

Wake Forest dropped out of the top 10 with its high-scoring loss to North Carolina, while Baylor also fell after a close defeat to TCU. The Bears have a chance to get back inside the top 10 with a win this Saturday over No. 8 Oklahoma. Undefeated UTSA finds itself in the top 25 this week after missing out in the first edition, as the Roadrunners crack the rankings at No. 23.

Rank Team Record
11 Texas A&M 7-2
12 Wake Forest 8-1
13 Baylor 7-2
14 BYU 8-2
15 Ole Miss 7-2
16 NC State 7-2
