Florida's Shorter cleared to leave hospital

Florida wide receiver Justin Shorter was cleared to leave the hospital Friday and is "doing well" after being carted off during the Gasparilla Bowl, his family announced.

Shorter exited in the final minutes of Florida's 29-17 defeat to Central Florida after he collided with an opposing defensive back midair. He fell to the ground before eventually being carted off. Shorter finished with three receptions for 54 yards.
The wideout started 11 of his 12 appearances with the Gators this season. His 41 receptions were tied for the most on the team, while he also added 550 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
