Texas A&M's stellar 2022 recruiting class keeps getting better.

Five-star defensive end Lebbeus Overton committed to the Aggies on Friday, according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

"It's exciting," Overton said. "Having the best relationship with their coaches and getting the vibe with the players, meeting the people in the program, and seeing how the players are and the defensive scheme they run is something I like to run.

"It's also a great feeling going back to my hometown and being part of that."

Overton, the No. 6 overall recruit and best defensive end of the 2022 class, picked Texas A&M over finalists Oregon and Georgia.

"Outside of their campus being so beautiful, the culture is also good," Overton said of Texas A&M. "Going on campus and seeing the students getting that feeling for the next step of life. I was considering Oregon before I went (on my last visit), but once I stepped on that campus and got to the real stuff, that's when I knew."

The move gives coach Jimbo Fisher five different five-star recruits this cycle, further strengthening the Aggies' hold on the top recruiting class in the country, according to ESPN 300.

The Aggies have now put together one of the top recruiting classes in college football history. Overall, they've landed 12 top-50 recruits in 2022, including four prospects in the top seven.

Texas A&M has specifically bolstered its front four in this cycle. Besides Overton, the Aggies also received commitments from five-star defensive tackles Walter Nolen and Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy and five-star defensive end Shemar Stewart.
