Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a sternoclavicular sprain, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Ewers underwent an MRI after leaving Saturday's 20-19 loss to Alabama in the first quarter, reports Anwar Richardson of OrangeBloods.com.
The earliest the star passer could potentially return is Oct. 8 against Oklahoma, Thamel adds.
Ewers completed 66.7% of his passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns against UL Monroe in last week's season opener. He was 9-of-12 passing for 134 yards versus Alabama before exiting.
Hudson Card is expected to take over under center for the Longhorns, who will face UTSA, Texas Tech, and West Virginia before taking on the Sooners.
