Kansas started quarterback Jason Bean in Saturday's highly anticipated matchup against Texas.
Jalon Daniels was expected to start for the Jayhawks, but the star aggravated a back injury Saturday morning. He was ruled out for the game.
The junior signal-caller didn't participate in Kansas' pregame warmups prior to Saturday's contest. Daniels has been dealing with a back ailment since the offseason.
Daniels has thrown for 705 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception through three games. He's completed 74.7% of his passes.
Kansas entered Saturday with a 4-0 record in a pivotal matchup against the Longhorns, who sport an identical record.
