Jalon Daniels returning for 5th season with Kansas
Jalon Daniels is staying put.
The Kansas quarterback announced Thursday that he intends to return for another season with the team.
Daniels - the Big 12's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year - has battled a back injury and made only three appearances this season.
"The adversity that I have faced this season will help me come back even stronger when the time is right," Daniels wrote on social media.
Unfinished business.

Daniels, who's been with the Jayhawks since 2020, broke out with 2,014 passing yards and 18 touchdowns against four interceptions in 2022. He added 425 yards and seven scores on the ground that season.
In three appearances this year, he completed 74.1% of his passes while tossing five TDs to one pick.
Daniels' return for the 2024 season is great news for a Kansas team that's been hot since Lance Leipold took over as head coach two years ago. After posting a 6-7 record last season - up from 2-10 in 2021 - the Jayhawks are 7-3 in 2023.
