The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder had originally committed to Florida State in October. The Miami native, who also recently reclassified from the 2025 recruiting class to 2024, is the eighth-ranked defensive end of his class.
Blount is the fourth top-50 recruit to join Miami's 2024 class. The Hurricanes' haul is headlined by five-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader.
