Uiagalelei transferring to Florida State
Former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is transferring to Florida State, the signal-caller told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Monday.
Uiagalelei was reportedly FSU's top transfer target before his commitment was finalized. His two options after entering the portal were joining the Seminoles or going pro and declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Florida State will be Uiagalelei's third program. A former five-star recruit, he initially began his college career with Clemson before transferring to Oregon State after the 2022 season.
Uiagalelei completed 57.1% of his passes for 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2023 with the Beavers.
Florida State needed a new starting quarterback with Jordan Travis headed to the NFL.
The Seminoles went 13-0 during the 2023 regular season, but were controversially left out of the College Football Playoff. They ended their campaign with a 63-3 defeat to Georgia in the Orange Bowl.
