Shedeur Sanders signs NIL deal with Nike
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders signed an NIL deal with Nike that'll include officially licensed apparel and footwear, the company announced Wednesday.
Shedeur becomes the first college football player to sign an NIL deal with Nike, according to On3's Pete Nakos.
Shedeur is following in his father's footsteps, as Deion Sanders was also known for his iconic relationship with Nike. The two parties created the famous Nike Air Diamond Turf shoes in the 1990s. Deion eventually left Nike but rejoined the brand in 2023 before becoming Colorado's head coach.
Shedeur recently said on his "2Legendary" podcast that he'd like to extend his father's work with Nike, saying: "I want to build on it. Have like a different version," per Nakos.
Colorado's 2024 season begins Thursday night with a matchup against the North Dakota State Bison.
