Report: Texas' Ewers week-to-week with abdomen injury
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is considered week-to-week after sustaining an abdomen injury during Saturday's win over UTSA, sources told Pete Thamel of ESPN.
Ewers' injury reportedly isn't as serious as the Longhorns originally feared, but he's expected to miss Texas' next matchup versus Louisiana Monroe.
The star passer left Week 3 in the second quarter with a strained abdomen. The Heisman Trophy contender completed 14 of 16 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception before exiting the matchup. Ewers also missed time in each of the previous two seasons with shoulder injuries.
With Ewers sidelined, Texas will rely on quarterback Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning. The signal-caller went 9-for-12 passing with four TD throws and rushed for a touchdown after replacing Ewers on Saturday.
