Top-5 OL Utu flips from Tennessee to Oregon
Offensive lineman Douglas Utu flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Oregon on Thursday.
Utu is a five-star offensive tackle and the 13th overall recruit in the ESPN 300. He's tied for the second-highest-rated offensive lineman with three other prospects.
"From Day 1, (head) coach (Dan) Lanning, (offensive line) coach (A'lique) Terry, and the entire staff made me feel like a priority," Utu told On3's Chad Simmons.
He added: "They were upfront, genuine, and showed real belief in my abilities. Their energy, transparency, and vision for how I fit into the program were clear, and they made me feel like I would truly be part of the Oregon family."
The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder originally committed to Tennessee in July. He now joins an Oregon recruiting class that features 12 other ESPN 300 commits, including fellow five-star prospect wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
Utu is the 16th player to commit to the Ducks' 2025 class.
