2025 No. 1 recruit Underwood flips from LSU to Michigan
Michigan and coach Sherrone Moore landed the highest-rated recruit in school history Thursday.
Five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood announced that he's flipping his commitment from LSU to Michigan.
Underwood is the nation's No. 1 recruit and the consensus top-ranked pocket passer in 2025. He's coming off two excellent seasons with Belleville High School.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound QB originally committed to LSU in January over several finalists, including Michigan. However, there was recent speculation that the Michigan native was considering flipping his commitment and that the Wolverines had reconnected with him in recent weeks.
However, Underwood suggested last week on Instagram that he would decline a $10.5-million NIL offer from Michigan.
Landing Underwood is a colossal addition for Moore and the Wolverines, who have struggled at quarterback this season after losing J.J. McCarthy to the 2024 NFL Draft.
Underwood's decision to join Michigan comes on the same day Julian Lewis - a five-star QB and the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2025 class - committed to Colorado after withdrawing his pledge from USC.
