CFP rankings: Alabama falls, top 4 remain unchanged

Alabama fell outside the top 12 as the latest College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday.

The top four remained the same, with Notre Dame jumping into the fifth slot, while Boise State climbed one spot and still has a bye in the new format.

Clemson, who rose from 17th, are inside the top 12 but not currently in the playoff. Another ACC team in SMU saw a jump up the rankings, as the Mustangs are inside the top 10 after improving their record to 10-1.

Indiana fell five spots after a blowout loss to Ohio State but remains inside the top 10. Georgia, who will play the winner of Texas A&M and Texas in the SEC championship, moved up to No. 7 in the rankings.

Oregon, Miami, Texas, and Boise State would all get first-round byes with the new bracket projection.

Colorado and Ole Miss were other schools that dipped in the rankings after losses on Saturday. Arizona State, who will secure a spot in the Big 12 title game with a win over Arizona, jumped five spots after taking down BYU.
